Talk:List of Old Westcliffians

This list has several problems, including the lack of references. Every single name should have a citation or be removed, otherwise it is speculation about a person, living or otherwise. I'm also not sure why being and Old Westcliffian itself is notable, so explaining that would be helpful. Dennis Brown (talk) 17:55, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to agree with much of this. The content has simply been moved, en bloc, from the school page where, as you can imagine, it was taking up rather a lot of space and seemed doomed to be constantly added to. The rationale for the page is precisely that, as made clear at WP:WPSCH/AG#Alumni. Im sure references for some of these chaps can be found - I can access stuff like Who's who and the NBD which should have a few of them in with a bit of luck. But I have assignments coming out of my ears just now so it'll be a fortnight or so till I can get anywhere near any of this.
Please feel free to jump in and reference or prune though. Blue Square Thing (talk) 21:31, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I will :) I was just giving fair warning that if I prune, it will be all without citation, which means all at this stage. Dennis Brown (talk) 22:03, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ta! I just got fed up with the list at the school page really... I think there's fairly obviously some we can find refs to - the MPs, major academics, major civil servants, some of the priests and so on. I've been not so certain about the others for a while, but people kept on re-adding them. Cheers - oh, I stuck a ref in for Hutton btw so that's one done!
