Untitled

[edit]

I'm just trying to add a manga page for Saint Seiya because many other anime/manga also have chapter listings. Conanfan1412 07:37, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS is never a meaningful argument. This is not an encyclopedia article. Corvus cornix 07:43, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--Fxparlant 17:18, 16 July 2007 (UTC) I added the Japanese titles for the first four volume. Sorry I couldn't find the content of each of these books.[reply]

Cleanup in progress

[edit]

I've started a cleanup pass on the article. On my plate is to finish compiling publication information; convert the table to the new {{Graphic novel list}} template; add sources; and rewrite the lead to, among other things, make it clear this is the tankobon list, not the other editions (info about which I think belongs on the main article anyway -- I'll probably move that stuff there). —Quasirandom (talk) 21:00, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Removing cleanup tag and reassessing as B-class. —Quasirandom (talk) 02:27, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article redundancy

[edit]

All information in the lead can be found at the media section of Saint Seiya and the body is directly extracted from other articles pertaining to each of the individual series. As such, this list does not seem to have anything to add. When it was created and first proposed for deletion, those three other lists of chapters for each of the series did not exist, but now that they do, is this article still necessary? I would like to propose its deletion. Cyn starchaser (talk) 15:08, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the media info from Saint Seiya was made from this article. The other articles were actually splitted from here because of weight issues.Tintor2 (talk) 15:25, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's great but how does it make this article any less redundant? Cyn starchaser (talk) 15:34, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cos it redirects to every other lists like a main episode list to contains links to every season.Tintor2 (talk) 15:37, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't the Saint Seiya template at the bottom of every page serve the same purpose (and better)? Cyn starchaser (talk) 15:39, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nope that is a template not an article of the manga series.Tintor2 (talk) 15:45, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly, and a template facilitates navigation much more than an article. The article about the series is Saint Seiya, which contains proper links to every other spin-off series and everything that you can find in this article (except the tables, but those are only a click away). This article does not seem to add anything to that. Cyn starchaser (talk) 15:58, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Again, it follows the manual of style like having a main episode list with each of its seasons transcripted.Tintor2 (talk) 16:01, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It still seems listcruft-y to me as these are all individual series, not "seasons" from a single work. They are related because they are part of the Saint Seiya franchise and already mentioned and linked to properly in that franchise's main article. Since it would not be an unanimous decision, however, I take back my proposal to delete. Cyn starchaser (talk) 16:51, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the number of people does not matter as wikipedia is not a democracy.Tintor2 (talk) 02:01, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking more of WP:CON. Cyn starchaser (talk) 11:20, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And it doesn't matter there neither.Tintor2 (talk) 14:14, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
