It seems the authors of this page have forgotten an entry, the Ottoman battleship Mesudiye. Though built as a center-battery ironclad she was later refitted into a predreadnaught like vessel and various sources like this one for example [[1]].XavierGreen (talk) 01:51, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Assari Tewfik was also rebuilt about the same time as Mesudiye, but i am uncertain of the details of her configuration after her refit.XavierGreen (talk) 02:00, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is a though one but I consider Mesudiye a battleship only in name. She was an ironclad as the date when the earliest battleships to be built was in the 1880's. While she was refitted, that did not make here a BB, only an upgraded ship.--White ShadowsYour guess is as good as mine 02:01, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
But if not a BB, than what is she. Im curious as to what the Ottoman navy rated her after her refit, as her armament and configuration changed completely and was similar in power and greater in displacement than many of the battleships initially built as such of the time, such as the USS Texas (1892), Russian battleship Imperator Aleksandr II, and SMS Habsburg for instance.XavierGreen (talk) 04:15, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
She was probably still just an upgraded ironclad. If you want to see if it was considered a BB. take it up with the other guys at WP:OMT :)--White ShadowsYour guess is as good as mine 04:18, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The article mentions two ships confiscated by the UK that were built for the OE, however the first one mentioned links to the HMS Agincourt and it it´s own article
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Agincourt_%281913%29
it´s described as being ordered by BRAZIL and not the OE. ConjurerDragon (talk) 16:31, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sold while under construction to the OE.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 17:12, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
