Inclusion criteria

[edit]

I think this page needs inclusion criteria, otherwise it is just going to be a mess of redlinks. We already have a separate list article fro IITs and NITs, so they are excluded from this page. For other colleges, I think the inclusion criteria should be:

  1. The festival has its own sourced article;
  2. College has an article with a sourced section on the event; or
  3. A third-party source (e.g. newspaper article) is provided to demonstrate the notability of the event.

I am going to start commenting out entries that do not satisfy these criteria. In the meantime, I hope to hear other editors thoughts on these criteria. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 01:04, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Largest festival

[edit]

The largest festival claim in lede has been edited multiple times but without any sources. It can be re-added but only after citing a source that backs up that claim. Soni (talk) 17:58, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up

[edit]

Anything without a standalone wikipedia page has been removed. In case of any items where a relevant Wikipedia page already exists, please re-add them to the list with the link. Soni (talk) 18:19, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Move article?

[edit]

As it stands, the page is not restricted just to cultural festivals but also technical (and a handful of sports, business, management and music). As the distinction between them varies from college to college, it might be better to move this page to List of festivals in Indian colleges as a catch all to cover all such festivals. Soni (talk) 20:38, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing no opposition to this after 4 months, I have moved the page. Soni (talk) 12:26, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
