Talk:List of senior high schools in Alberta

This list comes from a page I found on the internet. It is rife with problems. For starters, although the list said it was a lot of these schools aren't high schools. I just don't know which ones. There are duplicates, mistakes etc. If anyone has a better list please replace this one. I'm going to try and find one when I have time. TastyCakes 02:58, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cyber/Outreach Schools

[edit]

Should Cyber schools count? Also, should schools for returning students count ei: Returning Grade 12s.

And I went through the list taking out Elementry schools and Jr, Highs, if someone could go through again and take out duplicates, as well as more schools, it would be appriciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stratguy (talkcontribs) 06:19, July 18, 2007‎

Definition of high school

[edit]

What are we considering a high school for this article? Right now it seems to include any institution that teaches high school-aged people or grants high school credits. That includes online courses, continuing adult ed, home schooling, etc. I'm not arguing for or against any particular definiton, just saying htat we should clarify the definition and add it to the page. ALberta Education lists individual schools (with their locations) and diploma exam participation rates. I suggest that we use that to determine which schools qualify for inclusion. Meters (talk) 23:52, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A better source from Alberta Education (but in Excel format) is | School Information Report (Excel Data) Meters (talk) 18:04, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No input on clarifying the inclusion criteria in the lede so I'm just going to be bold and reword it to clarify that the accredited listed institutions are not just traditional high schools. Meters (talk) 19:28, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Major cleanup needed

[edit]

I am working on the Edmonton section, and if the rest of the article is as bad then it all needs serious work. I suspect that is badly out of date and was not accurate in the first place. Missing schools, closed schools, name changes, elementary schools listed as high schools, missing wikilinks, no references, etc. Please pick a section to review and list which have been done. Thanks.
