I'm David Gerstein, author/editor of one book cited here...

And wow, this is a mess. Some of the "films" for which information is taken from my Mickey and the Gang aren't really films at all; the projects referenced as films on this page include some comic books and other non-film projects. I wish I had time to clean this up... but I don't!

The Jungle Book 3

Hey, I've just read on tvtropes.org concerning "Franchise Killers", and stumbled upon some information: "Similar to The Rescuers above, originally, there was actually going to be a third film based on The Jungle Book where Baloo and Shere Khan are both captured and sold off of a circus, and as a result Mowgli, Shanti, and Bagheera actually all had to save them both. And over the course of the film, Shere Khan (who went into Knight of Cerebus mode in the second) would have actually regretted his hatred against humanity because of his capture and would have eventually reformed over the course of the film. However, due to the commercial and critical failure of The Jungle Book 2, this film was ultimately scrapped, and Khan's fate at the end of the sequel remained ambiguous."

I'm not sure if it's legitimate or not. Christianster94 (talk) 17 March 2013 (UTC)

I found this link at the tvtropes.org page for The Jungle Book. I assume that it would make it at least at tad more legitimate. Grey ghost (talk) 12:13, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Kingdom of the Sun

Does KOTS belong on this list?? This list is for never-released Disney movies, not working titles of actually-released Disney movies. Any thoughts on creating a list of working titles of Disney animated feature films?? Georgia guy (talk) 22:15, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

Disney's Watership Down!

According to M.D. Smart's review of 1978 film version of Watership Down in Amazon UK: "Disney originally planned to adapt the novel, but although they are unquestionably masters of traditional animation, it's a good job they were replaced." I wonder if it was true that Disney wanted to make their film adaptation of Watership Down novel or not. --Nectaria 13:44, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Title suggestion

Wouldn't "List of unproduced Disney animated shorts and features" be a better title? Technically, something like The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory are unreleased, but almost certainly will be made and released. Trivialist (talk) 23:44, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Story overhauls

Based on the keep status on the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of unproduced Disney animated shorts and feature films discussion page, some users such as myself decided that information about the listed canon Disney animated films that had major story overhauls during production should be deleted from the article since technically, those films were released despite the story changes. Can we reach a general consensus on this? Christianster94 (talk) 03:17, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
