Things named after the duc

[edit]

In a discussion re: shoes, a French expat explained:

I don't know. Perhaps more likely after the duc de Richelieu, his great-nephew? This character already has a number of culinary preparations that bear his name, and some say he is mixed up in the invention of mayonnaise. At least we all know who the Molière was named after.

Needs verification before being added to the article. Kent Wang 15:36, 4 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

I put a cleanup tag because I had great difficulty understanding this article. It's a bit messy for someone with no background; for instance, I have no idea what the campaigns were for (or rather against), where they took place, etc. One thing to make it clearer would be to put headers such as (for example):

  • Early days
  • Military career
  • Retirement

As I say, I have little knowledge of the matter so this is only a vague idea. Another thing, the mayonnaise article states that he is credited for its invention, but no mention is made here.

If someone could make the article a bit more user-friendly and understandable, that would be great. Regards, IronChris | (talk) 16:32, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
