Etnicity

[edit]

@SQGibbon: @Opdire657: Jews are an ethnoreligious group, so I believe Jewish could be used as an ethnicity. But we have to put into account whether or not the subject originates from Isreal or not. Weegeerunner (talk) 16:25, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure that it matters where they were born if they identify ethnically as Jewish. But the bigger point is that I'm 98% positive that this issue (with respect to other people and their Jewishness) has been discussed on Wikipedia thousands of times before and that there is a community consensus on how to handle it. I have no interest in this subject on my own and would love to defer to some other consensus view without having to actually debate the issue. If worse comes to worse we should simply talk to the folks over at WP:JUDAISM or put in a request for comment at WT:JUDAISM and see what they think. I do know that Opdire657's edits claiming that these subjects are practising Jews was not supported in the articles and needs a citation. SQGibbon (talk) 20:36, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
