NPOV dispute on Achievements section

[edit]

The achievements section of this article refers to the college as 'us'. In fact, it seems that the section currently 'talks up' the college and its education achievements.

Lack of sources tag and advert tag

[edit]

Any ideas about criteria for the removal of these tags and whether or not they have been met. I have added information from a number of sources separate to the school itself including:

So I think the lack of sources tag should be eligible for removal.

I have also significantly re-written the article as it did come across as an advert due to being entirely sourced from the Lowanna College website (it was copy + pasted). I am hoping that the article can have this tag removed also, however, as barely anybody has done any work to bring the article up to standard aside from myself I think the article may need another set of eyes to be sure it is written in the most neutral way. Anybody who wants to step up I would be very thankful. As this article is up for deletion it might be an idea for either someone who lives in the area/has access to hardcopy information, local papers etc to work on it. Or seeing as you guys should be looking at the article anyway before making judgements on whether to keep or delete it, people voting on the deletion page might like to give it a tweak here and there to help get it up to par.

Again, thoughts on the removal of the advert and lack of sources tags? Thanks guys, Tinkstar1985 13:04, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed both advert and primary sources tags. I think there are sufficient external sources - and in reality, the school has sufficiently limited control over what the Education Department publishes about it in many forums.
You really haven't asserted notability so I can understand the afd. I don't know how this school is special / different to other schools in Victoria. You have provided almost enough information to produce a Greb Gebhart article (the only other thing you would need is local newspaper coverage to provide a bio). That would give some incoming links.
I think you should
    • rename the Staff section to Achievements
    • Remove the Notable staff members heading
    • get rid of the list of principals
    • discuss each principal in the history section, and include referenced comment to what they attempted / achieved while they were there (getting the auditorium built larger than was funded, the interactive whiteboards, the photo and auto lab/workshops are real achievements for the principals involved).
This would really improve the look of the article - and get rid of a directory element.Garrie 02:25, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please review WP:MSH if the article survives the current AFD.

Principals
As discussed above I have removed the following list:
    • Chris Corcoran
    • Karen Cain
    • Jason Bek (Current)
It is directory in style and should be moved to prose in the history section, with a mention of what the school accomplished (if anything!) while they were in charge. Garrie 02:29, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating

[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 22:40, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
