Musical Notability

[edit]

Mark Tuan satisfies the criteria of musical notability separate from the Got7 page on the grounds of having ‘a record certified as gold or higher in at least one country’ and ‘a single or album on any country’s national music chart’. Tahmigot (talk) 14:34, 1 July 2020 (UTC) @Tahmigot: If you can find a reliable source for the number 1's, China and or Thailand (even if it's in Chinese or Thai), the official chart website hopefully, then you will be in good stead for acceptance as you have identified the special notability guide it falls under - RichT|C|E-Mail 11:39, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help! It is greatly appreciated and I will be working on that. Tahmigot (talk) 15:32, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer Note

[edit]

User:Tahmigot, User:Rich_Smith : I am accepting this draft based on assuming good faith with regard to the statement that the record charted in China and is properly sourced in Chinese. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:43, 5 July 2020 (UTC) The redirect has been indefinitely fully protected. I will be submitting the redirect to Redirects for Discussion for consensus and resolution. Rapid Resubmission

[edit]

This draft was resubmitted quickly after being declined by a reviewer. While considerable work may have gone into the draft between its decline and its resubmission, what the second reviewer sees is that the draft was declined by another reviewer and has been resubmitted. The reviewers also know that some editors tendentiously resubmit drafts in the hope of finding an easy reviewer. If a draft is resubmitted after being declined, rather than "just" resubmitting, it would be useful for the author to explain, on the draft talk page, how the subject satisfies the appropriate notability guidelines. It can't do any harm to explain to the reviewer rather than just resubmitting again. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:59, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

History and Reviewer Notes

[edit]

The subject of this draft, Mark Tuan, has a long history of having articles moved into mainspace, and then deleted at Articles for Deletion.

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mark Tuan.

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mark Tuan (2nd nomination).

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mark Tuan (3rd nomination).

The redirect has now been protected, and this draft has been submitted with a statement that the subject satisfies musical notability based on having charted in China. I have not read the reference stating that a single by the subject charted in China, and cannot read Chinese. I was prepared to accept the draft based on good faith. I will let the community decide whether to delete the redirect in order to accept the draft.

2020 acceptance of draft

[edit]

Note, per the template above, that articles on this person were deleted in the past. Following this RfD, a draft version was accepted and moved to mainspace. Previous history is now accessible at the redirect Mark Tuan (singer), including some limited content at Talk:Mark Tuan (singer). This move / draft acceptance is explicitly without prejudice to a new AfD. --BDD (talk) 20:03, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
