POV

[edit]

This article is very biased against Myyearbook.--GorillazFan Adam 19:10, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can remove anything that doesn't follow WP:V. Verifiability is very important to Wikipedia; if we let rants like the one that used to be here lie around without sources, we are opening ourselves up to libel charges. Ashibaka tock 23:52, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty Obvious Marketing Copy

[edit]

"Without advertisements and with an aesthetically pleasing look, myYearbook became an improved version of MySpace and Friendster." I would be surprised if anyone other than a flack has edited this article.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.170.89.92 (talkcontribs) 02:30, May 3, 2006.

Self-promoting creator

[edit]
  • The creator of this site is a total liar. Guess how he advertises his site? He made a rather clever myspace bulletin virus in which a user clicks a button with no idea what it does, and has a bulliten advertising their site posted on their account. He has lots of made up articles on his site about how great it is, and constantly claims to be better than myspace. It's quite amusing that he makes an analogy of his site vs myspace to google vs yahoo. People with delusions can be funny... --06:32, 29 May 2006 71.198.171.251 (talk contribs)
  • Yes. Because that would totally make people want to convert from MySpace to Yearbook. Besides, the Hex got spammed/hacked/viruses by a those people, and we haven't started slagging them off yet.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.149.101.206 (talkcontribs) 06:49, October 13, 2006.

MYB vs. Zenhex

[edit]

I am a 58 yr old, single female and find MYB MUCH better than myspace!! Games to play, videos to watch, stickers to give friends....so, so much more. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.153.8.7 (talk) 18:37, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MYB hasn't changed hex all that much, the only difference is the large influx of newbs.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.4.16.33 (talkcontribs) 07:00, July 3, 2006.

I think that, in the future, we should probably give Zenhex it's own page. Or at least upload the old icons of thw barbed-wire globe & Zenhhex dragon.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.149.101.206 (talkcontribs) 06:49, October 13, 2006.

i think the globe and the dragon can be arranged. as much as we are starting to assimilate, we should at least preserve a little bit of who we were before the merger. omegadrax July 09, 2007 04:22 PM (EST)

Fair use rationale for Image:Myyearbook logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:Myyearbook logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:05, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated the image details. I will be monitoring this page for any other corrections that need to be made.omegadrax 08:38, 8 June 2007 (EST)

I updated the location of the myYearbook offices. JoeCotellese (talk) 12:09, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Significant Changes

[edit]

I've made a number of significant changes to the page. I've updated the infobox, the overview, expanded on the history, added financing and revenue sections. Although I am a myYearbook employee I have tried to avoid anything that might be considered a conflict of interest.

I have second sourced any analytical data and have removed references to press releases and other self referenced content. I'm removing the self reference and notability boxes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JoeCotellese (talkcontribs) 18:22, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection

[edit]

HI,

I think this article might be a good candidate for semi-protection. Does anyone else agree? Seems to be a lot of vandalism lately. NCSS (talk) 21:29, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Updates

[edit]

I've made a number of grammatical changes to the history section as well as updated verb tenses to reflect that the company's name has been changed to MeetMe from myYearbook. I also clarified the summary section about the merger. Although I am a MeetMe employee and a myYearbook founder, I have tried to avoid anything that might be considered a conflict of interest.
