Not as well asuras as gods

[edit]

Mitra and varuna are not as well asuras as gods but at different times gods and asuras, as easyly can be seen from the Puranas. Both of them belong to the first gods which were created from Brahma and named "Jayas" or "Sons of Brahma". Their reign ended with the great flood at the end of Treta Yuga. After them the daityas reigned in Dvapara Yuga which were followed by the devas. Only when the devas took over the reign, the former gods were called "Asuras" which is also the source of the separation of the indian and iranian branch of the vedic culture. Just read the Puranas to check this.--87.152.241.10 (talk) 10:53, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
