purpose

[edit]

While there are separate articles at Monticello and at University of Virginia, I think this article is needed to cover the combination that is the World Heritage Site. For example any identified exact area boundaries, what exactly is covered in the WHS listing. This is information that might be more detailed than appropriate for either other article, and which does not need to be duplicated. This article could be kept brief and factual on those respects, or it could be developed to be a grander article really explaining the justification for the WHS listing. --Doncram (talk) 19:34, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

revisiting upon prod at article just now, 6 years later. Same reasoning makes sense. Are documents covering details of wh listed area available online now? Used in linked articles or not? --doncram 13:52, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, specific detail including maps defining WHS boundaries are Available to develop this stub. Available via a few clear cks from row in List of World Heritage Sites in the United States. This content is not used in the separate two articles. Useful to have one article on the complete WHS listing.--doncram 14:07, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll work on it. Mooeena (talk) 04:21, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

No Wikipedia articles link to this. The proposed expansion never happened. As such, I went BOLD and redirected this to Monticello, which has more info about the UNESCO designation than UVA does. (Mostly because Monticello is written as a historic site and UVA is not). There are a few sentences about the UNESCO site boundaries at Monticello#History, and if people are desirous of additional sentences, I suggest they go there. pbp 22:06, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
