Hadbah Minaret[edit]

The Hadba is part of the Nouri Mosque (aka Grand Mosque) and not the Ummayad. See.--Aa2-2004 (talk) 07:48, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Prophet Daniel!![edit]

There is no prophet Daniel in Mosul. His tomb is in Kirkuk and its still there intact til today. Perhaps its time to review the credibility of your wishy washy sources — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.148.91.211 (talk) 00:24, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No Yazeedi shrine in inner Mosul[edit]

your picture needs correcting as there is no yazeedi shrine in old Mosul. there shrine seen in the picture is a muslim one and the dome shape is a common meso-seljuk architectural feature found not only in Yazeedi holy sites but also in Mosul muslim ones.95.148.91.211 (talk) 00:32, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Highly dubious information[edit]

The first three chapters seem highly dubious, to say the least :

The Umayyad Mosque: its existence needs be ascertained. Moreover, the sentence "The only original part extant to recent times was the remarkably elaborate brickwork 52m high minaret that leans like the Tower of Pisa, called Al-Hadba (The Humped)" is absolute BS! Al-Habda was built in 1172 by Nur ad-Din, ans is 45 m. high, not 52.
The Great Mosque at Nur al-Din: "The elaborate 52′ (15.5m) brick minaret that leans like the Tower of Pisa is called Al-Hadba (The Humped). The Great Mosque was destroyed June 21, 2017, in what Iraqi forces claim to be by Isis militants" is another example of the same kind of BS. "The elaborate 52′ (15.5m) brick minaret"! Come on now! There again, it is/was 45 m. high, with seven elaborate bands showing elaborate brick designs.
The Great (Nuriddin) Mosque: same thing. We are talking about exactly the same building...

Name of Hamao Qado Mosque[edit]

How is Qara Serai (black palace) a mosque or shrine?[edit]
