Fair use rationale for Image:Ocbclogo.gif

[edit]

Image:Ocbclogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Much of the marketing talk has now been removed from this article to leave the bare facts. Much more needs to be added to the history side as this is a fascinating company - such as the involvement of Lee Rubber and the Lee foundation in this company.

Request minor edits to introductory paragraph regarding OCBC bank being founded by Lee Kong Chian.

[edit]

Suggest following the description on OCBC website for accuracy and consistency: "OCBC Bank was born out of the Great Depression through the consolidation of three banks in 1932 - the Chinese Commercial Bank Limited (incorporated in 1912), the Ho Hong Bank Limited (incorporated in 1917) and the Oversea-Chinese Bank Limited (incorporated in 1919)." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.90.36.53 (talk) 00:33, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest updating the OCBC logo as it has been recently revamped from "OCBC Bank" to just "OCBC" 121.7.228.97 (talk) 06:02, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OCBC Group has a few line of business under their corporate structure. They have OCBC public bank, Bank of Singapore private bank, Great Eastern insurance business, Lion Global asset management, and OCBC Securities brokerage. This article refers to their public bank. If you are sure that its branding uses 'OCBC' instead of 'OCBC Bank', I will update the logo accordingly.
