Sales

[edit]

Worldwide sales of Funhouse are more likely 4.5 milion than 3.5 milion since the album has sold 2+ milion in Europe 1.2 Milion in US and 700,000 in Australia alone! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.57.242.67 (talk) 21:54, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My recent edits

[edit]
  1. I've removed the excess copyrighted fair use images again, because there were far too many and most of them seemed to serve as nothing more than decoration. Per Wikipedia:Fair use criteria, "The amount of copyrighted work used should be as little as possible ... Do not use multiple images or media clips if one will serve the purpose adequately.", and "The material must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose." Also, the images had no fair use rationale on their description pages.
  2. In accordance with Wikipedia:Piped link and Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/MUSTARD, "year in music" links (e.g. 2006 in music) shouldn't be "piped" to read as [[2006 in music|2006]].
  3. To Hookerj (talk · contribs): note that reverting without an edit summary, much less any explanation or discussion, is frowned on. Extraordinary Machine 19:05, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing and stranger

[edit]
  1. I removed this giant tabla for one cleaner and lesser.
  1. I organized sales and I removed the positions of the russia, that does not contain references. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hookerj (talkcontribs) 19:18, 13 November 2006.
I didn't do anything with the Russia chart positions. As I said on your talk page, the resolution problem is most likely on your end. Before you think about "fixing" articles to match the resolution of your computer, consider what effect this will have on the majority of other computers. Secondly, please remember that users are expected to abide by what is written on the policy and guideline pages, such as the Manual of Style and Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/Tables for charts. They're there to establish consistency between articles, so if you want to propose changes, please discuss on the relevant talk pages rather than revert other editors again and again. That other articles do not abide by these guidelines does not give you permission to violate them. Extraordinary Machine 19:41, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dontletmegetmecover.jpeg

[edit]

Image:Dontletmegetmecover.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:20, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who Knew

[edit]

There are two separate U.S. releases of "Who Knew", hence two separate entries — combining the two would mislead readers into thinking that "Who Knew" charted on the Hot 100 on its original release. Hookerj (talk · contribs) said it wasn't necessary to have two because anybody reading this article would know about the re-release from reading the Who Knew article — it's not wise to assume that whoever reads this article will have read other articles, such as the Who Knew one, first. Extraordinary Machine 19:18, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Generally when there are 2 entries for a song, it's because the song was re-released after a long period of time or it was remixed, etc. That and the single was only re-released in the US, so the two entires could be combined, just be sure to note below the chart with a "1" stating the US re-release peaked at #40 and the original peaked at #95. Also: having "Who Knew" at the bottom of the chart with dashes in every column but the US one is highly unnecessary. LoveLaced 18:24, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, okay, that make sense, but some editors were removing all mention of the re-release, without adding a superscript number and a note. That has the potential to be very misleading and is simply not acceptable. Extraordinary Machine 17:09, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Not Dead U.S. sales figure

[edit]

The source I cited for the I'm Not Dead U.S. sales figure that I inserted a while ago reads:

"So far, "I'm Not Dead" has sold 977,000 in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan."

And that's what the article should state. Not 1,169,970 or any of the other sales figures that various editors have been adding to the article without providing any sources. It's completely unacceptable to insert a new figure without adding a new citation to support it. Either find a reliable source that mentions the new figure and add it to the article when changing the figure, or just don't change it. It's as simple as that. Extraordinary Machine (talk) 21:53, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've found a more recently published article that states I'm Not Dead has sold 1.15 million copies, so I've added it and the new figure to the article. Extraordinary Machine (talk) 21:58, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

*Correct* album sales

[edit]

http://www.sonybmg.com.au/news/details.do?newsId=20030829005731:

To date, the chanteuse has sold 22 million albums cumulatively worldwide. Her previous albums include: her four million-unit selling debut, 'Can't Take Me Home' (2000); her sophomore follow-up, 'M!ssundaztood' (2001) which sold 11 million worldwide; and the 2.7 million worldwide seller 'Try This' (2003).

Her most recent effort, 'I'm Not Dead' (April 2006) has sold over 5 million units globally and was the biggest selling international album in Australia in 2006/7.

82.36.130.209 (talk) 15:35, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'M NOT DEAD has been sold in over 6 million copies, and FUNHOUSE in over 4 million. That's about 30 million albums in total. And with over 50 million singles, she has sold over 80 million records worldwide. Why moderators always delete the calculated sales? I know it doesn't have a source, but if the sales that have sources are true, when we calculate them we get - 80,000,000 records. BreathtakingSin (talk) 10:56, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FUNHOUSE sold 4,300,000+ million copies and not only 3,5 million copies. Look here: [1] and [2] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.149.183.111 (talk) 12:55, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see above that the user: BreathtakingSin believes that Pink's total sales should come around 80 million album and singles and other materials combined. That figure is outright ludicrous for this artist who has not gained that kind of popularity throughout the years. Yes, she's gathered many Gold/Platinum awards in larger markets but certainly not enough to come anywhere near the 80 million. And the answer to the anonymous user:82.149.183.111, none of the provided sources could be regarded as reliable. Do not believe all figures that you see unless they are coming from highly reliable sources.--Harout72 (talk) 15:24, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Music Videos?

[edit]

Is Cuz' I Can a music video because it says that p!nk has made 20 music videos? yet states that cuz i can did have a video but it was live? so that means p!nk has got 21

I'm pretty sure the song 'Funhouse' charted in Australia. I think it was about 82 or something... Does anyone know if it did? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.172.120.252 (talk) 01:12, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nope it didn't, or i'd be straight on it. I't was charting on the Australian itunes top 120 at #89 but never made the official Singles Chart. Billy4kate (talk) 10:27, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

even though it is probably going to chart on the week of june 5 2009 I know for SURE that it has charted, for i read one week in the ARIA chartifacts section. I know it charted somwhere in the 80's or 90's and I am sure of it.

Singles Certifications

[edit]

I'm going to add single certifications to the discography, because most of her songs have certified in Australia, and many other countries..so yeah. Billy4kate (talk) 10:28, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's no reason for adding the single certifications to the discography when the single certifications are not even complete! And you can already see the single certifications on every single song at the discography when you click on it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.166.151.26 (talk) 23:10, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have provided sources for all the Certifications on singles. And please do not add any Certifications in the future without providing sources for them.--Harout72 (talk) 00:39, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Top 50 songs???

[edit]

What is a top 50 song? I've heard of Top 10, Top 20, Top 40 and Top/Hot 100, but never 50. All the other discography articles have a "Top 40" section, not Top 50... --93.122.244.254 (talk) 18:30, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FL discussion

[edit]

The FL discussion for this article was closed before it was even finished. there were alot of unresolved issues that had been fixed and were waiting for the commenting reviewers to re-review. is there a mininum amount of time to wait, or can i re-nominate it straight away? Mister sparky (talk) 14:02, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The FLC was four weeks old, and there was no consensus for promoting. I advise you to ask the reviewers to make sure their concerns are resolved before re-submitting. If you can fix their issues before re-nominating, it makes the second FLC a lot smoother. Good luck! Dabomb87 (talk) 23:59, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
i seeeee, okay i'll forgive them. i have messaged all the users that reviewed the article and will wait for them to get back to me before i re-nominate. all of the issues that were in the first review have now been resolved, the lead still needs some work (suggestions?) but everything else has been done. Mister sparky (talk) 00:30, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Influence and Ave Mary A

[edit]

I get it! These songs are beautiful! But what some people can't seem to get is that these songs are NOT singles! I've been trying to remove them from the template, from the discography.. but they're everywhere! The songs are NOT singles! Even if they charted! We need an OFFICIAL music video, if there's no official and direct announcement from Pink. This is depressing! Honestly! I could really use some help deleting the pages for the songs or, at least, changing the Singles infoboxes to Songs infoboxes like It's All Your Fault"Ahmedfarhat (talk) 20:18, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

P!ink The Remixes?

There seems to have been a remix EP released on Jive in 2007 [1]. Should it be added?--MichaelProcton (talk) 14:27, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gonna Make Ya Move (Don't Stop)

[edit]

Is this really by P!nk? On the page for this song they say "Do not confuse with the singer P!nk, born Alecia Moore." Either that page is wrong, or this page is wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.224.75 (talk) 10:43, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Music DVD?

[edit]

There is no indication of the music DVDs like FunHouse: Live in Autralia. Can someone please add it? It has sold 211,113 copies and is over 21x Platinum certified. 202.54.176.14 (talk) 09:15, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update Sales?

[edit]

So far, according to Musichart, which keeps track or worldwide sales and is very trusted by record labels, P!nk's The Truth About Love has sold a total of 3,920,000 copies. I was just wondering if someone could update this page, as currently it says 2.5 million. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.2.115.126 (talk) 01:24, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sales "The Truth About Love"

[edit]

The source for the sales of the WW sales of "The Truth About Love" is not reliable It sends you to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Truth_About_Love_(Pink_album). There is there no source for the 4.5 million sales. So it can't be 4.5. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MartRoggen (talkcontribs) 16:58, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can We Change France peak positions for Swiss peak positions? Pink is more successful in Switzerland and have more certification. LB2001 (talk) 23:23, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

France has world's 5th biggest music market, Switzerland ranks number 17th market on IFPI annual list. So even if France has fewer certifications than Switzerland, it is a far more important market to be listed.--Harout72 (talk) 23:36, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That any other changes? For Switzerland or for Denmark or for Sweden? Can we change Netherlands or Ireland for some of these 3? LB2001 (talk) 07:11, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I saw from the page you linked me that Ireland didn't entered to the chart unless here I can see Switzerland Denmark and Sweden So I think Ireland should be changed for Switzerland LB2001 (talk) 08:22, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I personally wouldn't object to replacing Ireland with Switzerland. You should probably wait and see what others have to say. Switzerland is definitely a bigger market and also has certified sales of almost 600,000, while Irish certified sales are below 100,000.--Harout72 (talk) 13:24, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I realised this options, it would be much better😁 LB2001 (talk) 16:25, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you think it's ready to change I would like to do the changes I would like to show you all what I can😁 LB2001 (talk) 16:30, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You should wait a day or two, if no objections from others then changes you're presenting can be made. But you should get all that ready in a sandbox. Be sure to format your sources properly, whether Swiss chart peaks or their certifications. Before you transfer your changes from sandbox to the main page, you should provide the link to your sandbox here at the talk, so we can see if everything is properly formatted.--Harout72 (talk) 22:58, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
