More invertebrates

[edit]

From the appendix of Solnhofen: a study in Mesozoic palaeontology (Barthel et al) I can see the page is deficient in these areas:

  • Molluscs
    • Bivalves 7 genera
    • Gastropods 5 genera
    • Cephalopods, many genera, especially Squid & cuttlefish and Ammonites
  • Crustaceans many genera of Decapods and Reptantians
  • Insects, many genera of Odonata and Beetles
  • Echinoderms, many genera other than Crinoids

Even amongst reptiles the list falls far short of what is known:

  • Lizards, 5 genera
  • Rhynchocephalians, 5 genera
  • Crocodiles, 7 genera

Others must have noticed this; my guess is that the format for the list is too cumbersome, and deters others from adding the details. As it is, the list gives a seriously incomplete picture of the fauna.

Should this page not be called "Paleobiota of the Solnhofen Limestone"? --TimTheDragonRider (talk) 16:00, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tharsis Dubius is linking back to Tharsis, a volcano on mars, to my knowledge there is no wiki page for T. dubius. CarrionQueer (talk) 23:02, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
