Mueller errata
[edit]Mueller's 1989 Air Force Bases: Volume I Active Air Force Bases Within the United States of America on 17 September 1982 pp. 471-4 lists Peterson Air Force Base information that seems to be in error: 30 SW (talk) 16:08, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Construction
- Mueller claims "Date Construction Began: 8 Apr 1942", but an actual 1942 source (letter cited in the article) identifies there was no construction until after May 10, 1942. 30 SW (talk) 16:08, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Units while inactive
- Mueller claims "Inactivated, 31 Dec 1945; surplus, 29 Jul 1946; activated, 29 Sep 1947;" but also claims Peterson Field had 3 "accountable and assigned" properties during the inactive/surplus period: "Arlington Aux Fld, Arlington, CO, 1 Jan 1947 (asgnd)-c. 10 Oct 1947 (trsfrd to WAA)", "Casper AAFld, Casper, WY", & "Tonopah AAFld, Tonopah, NV, 1 Oct 1946 (tsfrd fr Castle Fld, CA)-15 Oct 1946 (tsfrd to Hamilton Fld, CA)". Mueller also claims during the inactive period that there were "Units Assigned" in 1946: "23 Photo Sq 19 May 43-9 Aug 48", "260 AAF BU 25 Mar 44-4 Jan 46", & 268 AAF BU 20 Jun 44-10 Mar 46". Meuller also claims there was a "Base Operating Unit" in 1946: "263d AAF Base Unit, 8 Mar 1945-17 Dec 1946". 30 SW (talk) 16:08, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- 4600th assigned
- Mueller claims in "Units Assigned" that "4600 AB Wg 1 Nov 71-15 Mar 75", but the Johnson/Cornett detailed work on Air Defense Command has a descriptive listing that the Wing moved to Peterson on 18 October 1972. 30 SW (talk) 16:08, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Chidlaw Building
- Mueller's listing of "Units Assigned" for "HQ Space Comd 1 Sep 82-" is understandable since that organization was at the Chidlaw Building, an off-base/detached installation of PAFB after Ent also became a PAFB annex, but Mueller doesn't list the Chidlaw Bldg as an "accountable and assigne property" with all its NORAD and other headquarters as one of the "important...Major Off-Base and Detached Installations". 30 SW (talk) 16:08, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
HQ PROTU
[edit]I'm translating to Italian this article, and simply can't find nor figure out what the heck "PROTU" mean.
Thanks in advance for any hints about the subject. Filippof (talk) 10:43, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
