I'm surprised that no one has used the works of Shelley Reece, the one academic who has published work on both this novel and Paul Scott. (I took a class from him in the 1980s, but when Jewel in the Crown was broadcast on PBS, the local paper had an article on him which asserted this.) -- llywrch (talk) 16:56, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why criticism?

[edit]

The criticism by Salman Rushdie is just ridiculous. It's quite obvious that the man may have heard about the Raj Quartet, but he certainly didn't read it.
