Removal of coverage of students mocking people with Down's Syndrome

[edit]

Posting here for community input - IP editor(s) have three times removed content linking to a Belfast Telegraph article, "Threats against Regent House pupils over 'repulsive' video mocking Down's syndrome". Diff. Tacyarg (talk) 20:35, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

While I'm against PR whitewashing, there's also WP:NOTNEWS to consider. I'm of the opinion that schools articles don't need to compile every incident of the school being in the news, only particularly notable incidents. I don't see any coverage besides that from the Belfast Telegraph (and the BBC briefly mentioning that coverage). OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:39, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Ohnoitsjamie. This is a one off incident, that was by pupils not about the school itself (nevermind they were in uniform). It's ultimately a non-notable incident that didn't get widespread attention or other coverage. Not news. Students get suspended for dumb crap all the time, it's just not notable. Thanks, that's helpful. Tacyarg (talk) 08:57, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So is this consensus? I only ask to see if we can stop the disruptive editing currently going on. Canterbury Tail talk 12:03, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
