What is he?[edit]
Would'nt he be a spree killer rather than a serial killer as a serial killer murders three or more persons, usually in service of abnormal psychological gratification, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant period of time between them yet Blinstons murders took place only less than a month of each other which is the definition of a spree killer so someone should change it please? 73.235.180.215 (talk) 01:18, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- I think he would be a serial killer. A serial killer is a criminal who murders two or more people (which he did) with a cooling-off period (which he had). The murders do not need to take place over a month. The U.S government's definition of a serial killer states that they need to have a cooling-off period, but doesn't specify how long this period needs to be. For example, the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs murder spree was only about three weeks long, but they are still considered to be serial killers. Similarly, Ryan Blinston is also described as a serial killer by virtually all media outlets. This is because he had a cooling-off period. It wasn't long, but he still went on living his life after each murder; He went to his job, talked with friends, etc. Silent-Rains (talk) 18:42, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- The U.S government's definition of a serial killer also states that they need to have their murders over more than a month which Blinston did not.--2601:206:301:4A90:F718:1176:20F0:9CFD (talk) 19:25, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

- The page, List of Serial Killers in The United States recently had Donald Harding removed by User:ExRat as Harding was a spree killer. Victims were killed in the span of a month in the course of a crime spree.
- Well if thats the case for Harding than Ryan Scott Blinston should also be considered a spree killer because his victims were also killed in the span of less than a month in the course of a crime spree. 2600:1010:B112:DC84:B999:363E:FBC9:229B (talk) 17:36, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
