Scudetti

[edit]

It was Maradona who put Napoli on the world soccer map, leading them to two scudetti

The word scudetti needs some context or explanation. Tintin Talk 02:02, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Soccer or Calcio?

[edit]

Is it Napoli Soccer or Napoli Calcio, since they dont call it soccer in Italy, they call it Calcio. For example, Cagliari Calcio, not Cagliari Soccer.

SSC Napolo

[edit]

Could someone please verify where the name, "SSC Napolo" came from. I don't believe this is correct.

It's S.S.C Napoli

Requested move

  • Support - If Napoli will be called SSC Napoli then name change is correct.
  • Support - I'll change it now... seen as that is the clubs official name, not Napoli Soccer. - Deathrocker 21:05, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The name of the club is officially S.S.C. Napoli from 23 May... See my last modification on the page. Excuse me for my bad english.

Template

[edit]

I've created a template for the current team players here; Template:S.S.C. Napoli squad, so if there are any squad changes or number changes it will need to be updated there too. - Deathrocker 23:59, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ACNapoliLogo.PNG

[edit]

Image:ACNapoliLogo.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Rivalries?

[edit]

How can Juventus, Inter, Milan, Atalanta, and Livorno be excluded? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.96.219.85 (talk) 07:33, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Naples and Palermo are not rival fans; on the contrary, they have always been good allies. In recent years, a small part of the fan base has moved away from this friendship because a part of the Palermo fans are friends with the Roma fans (Napoli's historical rivals). Erase this serious mistake! You can find confirmation of what I say in the following Italian newspaper articles:

About the records and statistics section

[edit]

For now the "records and statistics section" actually only encompasses two of the main statistics about players, yet there are many more relevant statistics for a football club. Instead of linking to List of S.S.C. Napoli players, it should link to a more complete article, like this one about Aston Villa or this about Liverpool, just to cite two very well-made ones. After all a club's statistics is not its list of players.

So my proposal is: Leave everything as it is, maybe cutting down the number of players per stat in the table and adding a couple more important ones in the textual part, but using the {{main}} template to link to List of S.S.C. Napoli records and statistics, which I plan to create with the help of the corresponding article on it.wiki (and hoping to make a pretty decent article if sources allow it). Then it would only be a problem of where to put the existing {{main|List of S.S.C. Napoli players}} template.

I think it is a better solution than having anyone who searches for the detailed statistics only find the list of players (the Napoli template Statistics wikilink actually links to that section too). Hoping to establish some kind of consensus. Zidanie5 (talk) 21:48, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I waited for three days with no answer, so I proceeded. I merely changed the {{main|List of S.S.C. Napoli players}} template in the Statistics section to {{main|List of S.S.C. Napoli records and statistics}}, an article I created here. I think it is more specific to what the section is about, and List of S.S.C players was already linked a couple of sections before that. If anyone does not agree with the change, let's talk about it. Zidanie5 (talk) 16:10, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

As this is supposed to be a good article, why can't I find on the page links to the specific season subpages of the team? For instance 2012–13 S.S.C. Napoli season. Sander.v.Ginkel (Je suis Charlie) 23:46, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
