TWO different "abandon ship" - and thus two different pick ups. There is an apparent hole in the narration here. The big majority of the passengers and crew, including all the women and children and the wounded, left ship at about 10.45. No? Also, it must have taken a good while. Orcyades after it went away as fast as it could, and was sunk two hours later, perhaps 15 nautical miles away. Where the remaining crew left. Thus, the pick up made by the polish freighter s/s Narwik was done twice. The long one on 20 life boats first, and several hours later the remaining lifeboat+two rafts... Its apparent if reading closely your narration, although it isnt clear cut in the text. Yes, I was also reading the corresponding story told by the crewmen on s/s Narwik. As retold in the book by Eugeniusz Daszkowski "Narwiks last journey". Daszkowski was a semiprofessional maritime writer, and also, captained the Narwik in Narwik´s last years including this last journey to the junk yard in 1972./StefanZ78.69.228.145 (talk) 17:08, 10 May 2016 (UTC)/StefanZ[reply]
