Population

[edit]

There is some confusion between this article, which is apparently about the tehsil, and the so called chief town in the tehsil, Sarai Alamgir. In both articles the population is mentioned as 50,000. This cannot be true. Could anybody clarify on this? Salih (talk) 16:45, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I can't find real world information regarding the population at this point. What is reliably true, judging from the consistency with which they are mention in other Pakistani articles, is that there is both a "chief town" of the tehsil and the tehsil itself, both having the same name. However, articles on Pakistan distinguish which one they are referring to. Xtzou (Talk) 16:52, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, in terms of "Search", "Alamgir" is also a common surname. Xtzou (Talk) 16:54, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is better we remove the population figure from both articles. Anybody could add back with proper sources. Salih (talk) 05:17, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
