Wrong 3-view

[edit]
3-view line drawing of the Piper PA-34 Seneca
C-402C

The 3-view presented as being that of a Seneca V is actually not a Seneca, but some other aircraft. Obvious differences are the tapered wings (Seneca's wings are rectangular), rearward-retracting nosewheel (Seneca's nosewheel retracts forward), divided windshield (Seneca V windshield is one-piece), the number of lateral windows (six, while the Seneca has four) and the larger, wider-chord vertical stabilizer. The drawing is generally similar to a Seneca, but is actually another airplane. It seems to be one of the Cessna light twins. Brunobl (talk) 13:59, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching that. You are quite right, I think it is a Cessna 402C, have a look at at the image I have added here. I have removed the 3-view from this article and left a note on the image's Commons talk page. I will ping @Noha307: for his thoughts too, as he added it to the article a month ago. - Ahunt (talk) 20:43, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that seems to be it. Glad to have been able to somehow help in this wonderful project that is Wikipedia. Brunobl (talk) 09:47, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah that was a great catch on your part. If you see anything else suspicious please do leave a note on the article's talk page, my talk page or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft and you will get a quick response. As far as this three-view goes, if I can get someone else to identify it as a C-402C then I am happy to rename the Commons file, just want to be sure before I do that. - Ahunt (talk) 11:05, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have asked for some more opinions on renaming that 3-view over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft#Not a Piper PA-34 Seneca. - Ahunt (talk) 22:38, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just to close this out: I have got some good concurrence that this is a C-402C from WikiProject Aircraft and so have now moved the file on Commons to File:Cessna 402C 3-view line drawing.svg. That should be "case closed". - Ahunt (talk) 15:40, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I guess that's what I get for reading the filename, but not paying attention to the image. Thanks for correcting it! –Noha307 (talk) 20:51, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
