I think slice needs more facts and information as to why pepsi decided to discontinue the slice line-up. i need these facts to help cope with my loss, so i wish someone can help me out with the info iwish to kno. beans and thanks

Also, is Tropicana using the same formula? I haven't had any yet but if it's essentially Slice's evolved form, I'll give it a try.

I think Tropicana is the same as Mirinda, which has been available in other countries for a long time. It's nothing like Slice. I think it tastes terrible. DAF 17:21, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe I'm nuts...

[edit]

...but I'm certain that the original flavor of Slice when it was first released had a distinct pear-like aspect. If so, it would probably be worth noting. Can anybody back me up on this? —The preceding comment was added by David A Spitzley (talkcontribs) 19:29, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hey anything's possible, but for me all I remember initially was Lemon=Lime in the green can, Orange and even when Apple Slice came out I loved it. I never even knew about strawberry and fruit punch slice....interesting. How might I obtain photos of these cans? PeAchBaCon 20:11, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The original flavor was the lemon-lime, and it replaced Pepsi's then Sprite clone, Teem. It was just called "Slice" originally. Flavors like Mandarin Orange and Grape came after. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.25.62.116 (talk) 03:53, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Slice discontinued?

[edit]

It says slice was discontinued in 1994 and was brought back in April of 07'?? In NYC it never left and went anywhere, although the only one that is around is Mandarine orange slice, and it still is available at my local stores with no problems. I'm wondering if there is some kind of mixup between SLice and Crush soda because I havent seen one of those in ages. PeAchBaCon 20:18, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Crush still exists. I bought some last week.

Fair use rationale for Image:DrSlice.png

[edit]

Image:DrSlice.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:55, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No sources

[edit]

This article seems like a nice little article with lots of dates of when what happened, but there aren't any sources. While I agree most pop culture items such as beverages don't have much in the way of academic writing on them, surely someone has some articles or books they're getting these dates and other facts from. Otherwise, nothing here is verifiable. Oswald Glinkmeyer 21:34, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Slice and St. Louis?

[edit]

"The rest of the Slice line was replaced in most markets by Tropicana Twister Soda in the summer of 2005, although the Dr Slice variety can still be found in some fountains. It has been discontinued in more and more markets though, including St. Louis, Missouri." This is really confusing to me. I love Dr. Slice, and I'm from St. Louis and to my memory they didn't sell it in grocery stores, but it was available at a few restaurants. I'm living in New England now and no one here has even heard of Dr. Slice. I last had Dr. Slice in January 2007 at a restaurant in St. Louis called C J Mugg's. Also, i find that portion of the sentence kind of ambiguous... does it mean that St. Louis was one of the few Dr. Slice markets that was still holding on and it was a major event when the city said goodbye to it, or does it mean that all other cities still have it? I'm really confused.

They still have slice at gas stations around my area. I live in NE Arkansas. I know for a fact they have Peach Slice, I bought one this morning. I think the article needs updating. Ash4020 (talk) 19:14, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flavors

[edit]

Ummm...red is not a flavor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:5CA:4280:B330:24F7:2D73:EEA4:4F47 (talk) 23:25, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This information is incorrect

[edit]

The new slice that was introduced in 2018 is a sparkling water drink and in no way resembles the previous soft drink Pepsi Cola launched in 1988. Travisthemonkey (talk) 21:33, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly, I think it should be removed entirely. It's not the same product at all. oknazevad (talk) 03:55, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
