Fair use rationale for Image:Spy kids.jpg

[edit]

Image:Spy kids.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Question about Thumb-Thumbs

[edit]

The house is assaulted by Thumb-Thumbs, and the children escape alone on a submarine that's set to auto-pilot to a safe house.

Gradenko orders the house to be dismantled, and Juni sees Thumb-Thumbs outside destroying the submarine. Gradenko's intentions revealed, Juni accidentally exposes the Third Brain, and a chase ensues with Carmen and some henchmen with jet packs. Carmen eventually gets the brain, and she and Juni escape the Thumbs.

Were those actual Thumb-Thumbs? Ever since the first time I watched this film back in 2005, I noticed that the shape of "Those Things" as Juni called them, were very similar to the Thumb-Thumbs, except they were black instead of skin coloured. And they moved kinda different. They seemed more energetic and less slouchy than the Thumb-Thumbs?

So those black things were Thumb-Thumbs all along, and not black things of a similar shape, but "things" in their own right? I'm just trying to understand so I don't have to question this information any further. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:51, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Audience scores

[edit]
  • Nick Evershed (12 July 2013). "What are the movies that audiences loved but the critics hated?". the Guardian.

I'm not sure I want to encourage people to include Audience scores but maybe there might be an exception worth making in this case. I noticed an article from the Guardian that looked at discrepancies between Audience scores and critic scores on Rotten Tomatoes, and at that time Spy Kids had a critics rating of 93% versus 39% from audiences (as of April 2020 it is 93% versus 46%). The author was surprised at the difference, he thought Spy Kids was popular. He didn't try to analyse it any deeper than that (or ask obvious questions about who votes on Rotten Tomatoes). The article also mentions a list done by Rotten Tomatoes looking at the biggest gaps between the critics and audience ratings(The Hollywood Reporter).

Maybe worth mentioning, maybe not. -- 109.76.215.105 (talk) 22:25, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
