Tunneling versus Stoping[edit]

The Las Médulas article refers to tunnelling and stoping. I don't know much about mining, but it sounds from the description of stoping that it's a form of tunnelling. Is there a meaningful distinction? If not, tunnelling should be removed from the Las Médulas article.

Looks like they are tunneling to get to the ore, and when they get to the ore, they are stoping. Stoping is not a form of tunneling, but tunneling can be a form of stoping, but in this case it is not, they are two distinct activities.
