Kollywood is a mystery to me. Rich Farmbrough, 12:40, 21 May 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Ok, let's continue here. And yeah, Kollywood is indeed a mystery. ;) Well, let me try to explain: We have these Tamil Nadu State Film Awards presented by the Tamil Nadu Government. They earlier announced these awards annually, but now (I think, since 2000) they are doing two or even three years at a time. However, let's leave that aside. Coming back to the categories, for one thing there is the "plain" Award for Best Actor and then there are also some Special Prizes for Best actor, actress and film given by a Special Jury. (These awards were introduced in order to honour as many films and actors as possible!). This usually leads to confusion! Rajinikanth won the "plain" Best Actor Award. The Special Award for Best Actor was given to Vikram. (I don't think your first link which says Vijay was given the award is reliable as well, looks like copied from Wikipedia itself.) There is sadly no central site or any other reliable media site that lists the awardees for award functions before 2000, that remains the big problem. The Dinakaran link was the only site where all the awardees were listed. Now I found only that cinenews link. Don't know what to do else. Johannes003 (talk) 13:00, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
