Full of errors

[edit]

So many I can't go into it but for example, 048 Saturday evening, Mammy's face is not seen. 026 Red ribbon is in use before this cartoon. 051 'made in Hollywood' phrase is in earlier cartoons, so data is incorrect and needs revising. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.144.255.47 (talk) 22:26, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Are these errors still there? This is a genuine question, I really don't know what has changed in the last +8 years. I think it would be helpful if errors can be mentioned/documented, to make correcting these errors simpler. 2A02:8388:1604:F600:6D3E:54F:D1:F386 (talk)

Toodles Galore and the Lion

[edit]

The last appearance of her is in the short Love Me, Love My Mouse (despite the IMDB call her as Toots; but I don't know as contact IMDB's staff for explain about that), in the same way as the last appearance of Lightning is in the short Switchin' Kitten.

Other thing: the short Matinee Mouse contain scenes of the short Jerry and the Lion, that don't set in the notes!

Correct please; OK?

I don't modify myself for none change again thinking I have changed disrupt. other user then modify in my place; it's all right?

Well, thanks!

List of Tom and Jerry Cartoons

The KarateGuard

[edit]

Does the 2005 release of The KarateGuard really qualify to be included on this page? For one, it was made for WB and not MGM like the original Hanna Barbera, Gene Deitch, and Chuck Jones cartoons.

If The KarateGuard is included on this page, then why isn't The Mansion Cat included? MEA707 18:43, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The KarateGuard is a short film(i.e. a movie), while The Mansion Cat is a tv show.123.193.12.44 13:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Public domain?

[edit]

I heard that some episodes are in public domain. Please mark into the episode in public domain with the reason.220.3.134.144 (talk) 01:54, 20 November 2007 (UTC) modified 220.3.134.144 (talk) 01:58, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find copyright indication only in Puss Gets the Boot, therefore I think that only this is in public domain. --Mikomaid (talk) 01:17, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There are no public domain MGM Tom and Jerry cartoons. If you still are sceptical, ask Warner Brothers. [|Retro00064|☎talk|✍contribs|] 23:03, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't there some time limit? I don't remember but I think there is one. Some episodes are now +70 years and counting upwards. 2A02:8388:1604:F600:6D3E:54F:D1:F386 (talk) 22:07, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Use of non-free images on this article

[edit]

This article has been identified as containing an excessive quantity of non-free content. Per the Foundation's requirement to keep non-free media use minimal, and per Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria #3, the non-free images on this article have been removed. Please note:

  • The presence of a fair use rationale for this article on an image description page does not make it acceptable for a given use.
  • Blanket restoration of the non-free images that have been removed can and most likely will be reverted, with subsequent reporting action possible.
  • If some restoration is desired, careful consideration of exactly what non-free media to use must be made, paying special attention to WP:NFCC #1 and #8. In most cases non-free media needs to be tied directly to the prose of the article, most preferably with inline citations tying the discussion to secondary sources regarding the image per Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If this is a list type article, please read the WP:NFLISTS guideline. If you wish to dispute this removal, it may be helpful to read WP:OVERUSE, as it answers a number of typical questions and responses to removals such as this. If after reading these, you still feel there is grounds for restoration of most or all of the media that have been removed, please post to Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. Reissue prints and Aspect Ratios

[edit]

I re-inserted some infos on reissue prints but I didn´t reinsert which cartoons were reissued since this is still an guessing game as the source confirms. As for the aspect ratios none of these were filmed in 1.75 ratio, post 1953 cartoons might have been matted into in 1.75 but I doubt that, since the since production of Academy ratio cartoons cased in 1954 and last one were relesed in 1955, And there is no mention in Maltin's book Of Mice and Magic that 1953-1955 cartoons were matted to 1.75 ratio. The matting thing might actually have started whith Rembrant Cartoons, and Chuck Jones cartoons (as the DVD set of the Chuck Jones cartoons suggest). Similar probably for the Warner Bros cartoon. But thats defenetly not the case with the original 114 HB cartoons that were produced during the 1940's and 1950's. 157.157.149.129 (talk) 05:12, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tom and Jerry theme

[edit]

In Fine Feathered Friend, Sufferin' Cats, and The Lonesome Mouse, only the reissues have the Tom and Jerry theme. --Evope (talk) 23:56, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Evan Kalani Opedal[reply]

Blue Cat Blues article?

[edit]

Should we make an article about Blue Cat Blues? It does have lots of media coverage (mainly for its surprisingly dark subject matter). --Shadowboxer2005 (talk) 21:32, 13 June 2020 (AEST)

It had an article, but it was deleted alongside many, many other original series Tom & Jerry articles (I believe every episode of the original series previously had one) due to 'lack of credible sources'; the article may be recovered through a WP:REFUND request, I'd love to see the previously deleted articles be restored with additional sources. Skunk Trouble?

[edit]

This ep doesn't exist. I think it was added as either a mistake, or a troll. According to Tom and Jerry online, the last short to win an Oscar was Johann Mouse. Also it was Pecos Pest that was Fred Quimby's final episode. — Preceding --2600:8806:3000:2B:BDCF:2B85:6646:4F8E (talk) 20:11, 6 March 2021 (UTC) [reply]

Notes on the episodes, in particular the "renewed in xxxx"

[edit]

Some episodes currently have Notes, in particular the one from 1963, "Pent-House Mouse", which has the following entry:

   "Renewed in 1991."

I do not doubt this per se, but this is lacking some information. For instance, where to look at what "renewed in xyz" actually means? I assume a new drawing was done, or something like that, but it would be better to specifically state so.

On top of that, the other episodes past that don't have any note at all (at the least the ones following 1963 directly). It would be nice if someone could extend this part - right now I am asking myself why only that episode was renewed but not the other, and if so where was it broadcasted, and why only that episode (if it was only that episode). Any information would be useful IMO. Right now I am locating old episodes that I watched in my own youth, but I remember some Tom and Jerry cartoons looked much uglier than other ones, and had another style, so this would help me remember which episodes were the ones I was seeking, and which ones I could skip. Hope that explains the use case for the addition here. 2A02:8388:1604:F600:6D3E:54F:D1:F386 (talk) 22:10, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It Chapter Two reference

[edit]

The cartoon has been referenced in It Chapter Two, so can it be on this page?

[edit]

Lots of episodes just redirect to this article and have barely any notable information on them. Is there a way we could make more articles on more notable cartoons, such as Mouse in Manhattan, Quiet Please!, The Milky Waif, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Mouse, Hatch Up Your Troubles, Heavenly Puss, Love That Pup, Tom and Jerry at the Hollywood Bowl, His Mouse Friday, and Touché Pussy Cat!? These are some of the more notable and well remembered cartoons, and they seem deserving of their own articles. Any way someone can do this? ClassicToonFan17 (talk) 22:59, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
