[edit]

An entry was made on [[my user talk page]] by Alvestrand saying I should "at least put SOME content into it to avoid the {{db-band}} speedy deletion tag". I'm attempting to move the discussion here as this seems more appropriate. I don't think many users seeing a db-band tag will go to an unrelated user page for discussion.

Before I added the stub, other pages linked to one of "this article does not exist - do you want to create it" pages. I ran into this empty link as I had wanted to find out information on this band. I thought I was improving Wikipedia by linking to a very informative biography on Yahoo music and also an article an AMG. I also put in a hopefully useful disambiguation. Any future users looking for information on this band are a click away. Of course, the linked content could change or disappear. I know scarce little about this band so can't add non-linked content and certainly don't want to plagiarize the linked articles. But, with the stub in place, a better-informed future user could easily add such content. For a band that hasn't been active in half a century, it might take a while for that user to arrive. As Wikipedia is a communal effort, I don't think the onus should be on individual users to get any particular article beyond stub status. If this were the case, there wouldn't be so many stubs, one would think.

By all means, if this article does not meet Wikipedia guidelines, remove it, though I think this would be a disservice to other users. --Wantnot 04:51, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Wantnot[reply]

It seems to me that the article meets the standard for notability because there are releases on major record labels, and these releases are documented within the article. I feel the warning about notability should be removed. Ned (talk) 00:24, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
