the neutrality of this article ought to be disputed, particularly the first paragraph of the history section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.152.138.153 (talkcontribs) 03:37, October 30, 2007

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on University of California Student Association. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

The UCSA Charter is not a charter

[edit]

I changed charter to "Charter" because UCSA's charter was not issued by or approved by the public corporation named "The Regents of the University of California". The "Charter" is not actually a charter; the "Charter" is merely an agreement between a number of UC students. Those students have joined together by mutual consent and have, for example, agreed to use the fictitious name "University of California Student Association".

The California Attorney General has classified UCSA as an "unincorporated association". The UCSA Charter falsely states that UCSA was organized under the California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law. The students obviously do not understand what their association is and how it came into existence. MQMagoo (talk) 23:38, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Correcting the "Formerly called" item

[edit]

The "Formerly called" item in the Infobox should probably be changed. The former name of the University of California Student Association was "Council of Student Body Presidents", and that council had a department named UC Student Lobby. Please see the "(**)" footnote at http://regents.universityofcalifornia.edu/governance/bylaws/bl5.html MQMagoo (talk) 00:45, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Section 9(e) of Article IX of the California Constitution still reads "…a student of the university chosen by the Council of Student Body Presidents…" http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=CONS&sectionNum=SEC.%209.&article=IX
