Amtel-Vredestein?

[edit]

What does this sentance in the first paragraph mean?

Vredestein was bought in to Russian company by Amtel to become Amtel-Vredestein.

I'm a native English speaker but the meaning of the line escapes me. Could somebody clarify the intent of the editor.

The companies web site, http://www.amtel-vredestein.com/amtel/about/history/ seems to indicate that the Amtel-Vredestein is Russian owned despite the headquarters being located in the Netherlands. Could somebody also please clarify that point? --TGC55 (talk) 16:34, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
