The main premise of this article - that Westway users travel "all the way to West Wales" is completely untrue; and to also say that ... some people informally (and incorrctly) (sic) refer to the whole road as The Westway ... makes little (Wiki) sense either. If they are incorrect, then why should the article mention it? I thought that we were meant to be giving facts, not hearsay!!!

A look at the London A-Z will show that Westway (London) begins at the Marylebone Flyover as the A40(M) and ends at Western Circus, by which time it has become part of the A40 on its way out from the City of London. It is never known as Euston Road - that is beyond Marylebone Road after the Flyover, which is part of the A5201; and the Hanger Lane Systen is over two miles past the point where Westway becomes Western Avenue, which is itself ten times the length of Westway. The Hoover Building, too, has the address "Western Avenue" - certainly not Westway! The article on the A40 also had errors - it didn't get to the City end - and that is what this article should mention but never does.

As well as amending this article I have also changed the redirect of Western Avenue which led readers to here. Peter Shearan 09:47, 21 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

John Baxter

John Baxter (engineer) (died 2003, aged 86) was the civil and structural engineer responsible for Westway (http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2003/nov/10/urbandesign.transportintheuk). Kdammers (talk) 06:37, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
