Merge rather than CSD

[edit]

There appears to be enough information in here worthy of a merge as proposed rather than a CSD--☾Loriendrew☽ (talk) 01:41, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A merge seems reasonable. This is my first time posting to Wikipedia and I am only doing it for a university assignment so if you could merge the pages or tell me how to do it I would appreciate that. Suzannesmartie (talk) 02:00, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look at Wikipedia:Merging. After a period of discussion (look at talk page comments) then follow the directions at Wikipedia:Merging#How to merge. If you feel uncomfortable I can do it, just need a reminder down the line.--☾Loriendrew☽ (talk) 02:08, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merging with any other article. This is a significant, notable topic in its own right, with specialized information distinct from the general information both about cardiac monitoring in general and about ambulatory monitoring in general. Both of those topics should have links to this page with brief mention of this topic, rather than extended discussion of this topic in their own articles. Trying to merge with either of the broader topics would result in duplication of this page's content in both of the other pages, making both of them longer and less coherent than they should be. Link, don't merge! This is almost always the right decision for a subtopic shared by two or more broader topics, provided the subtopic is itself notable.

Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because... (The electrocardiography wikipedia page does not cover wireless ambulatory ECGs as this is a fairly new development in cardiology research. This page has also been suggested to be merged with the Remote Patient Monitoring page and I agree that it could be merged there.) --Suzannesmartie (talk) 02:04, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
