Pollistes apachus

[edit]
  • ... that the queen might not be your mother if you are a larva in a Polistes apachus nest?

Created/expanded by MadisonPomerantz (talk). Self nominated at 20:44, 21 October 2014 (UTC).

  • @MadisonPomerantz: I don't think this hook is satisfactory. The queen is likely to be the larva's mother unless she has died and been replaced by another fertile female. I would like to propose a different hook: Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:51, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
  • ALT1 ... that the dominant queen in a nest of the wasp Polistes apachus will eat eggs laid by other females?

Hook eligibility:

  • Interesting: No - y ALT1
QPQ: Done.
Overall: Like Cwmhiraeth, I find original hook unsatisfactory. There are indirect mentions of the phenomena, but nothing that could be pointed to. I struck that hook. ALT1 is approved. Article is GTG.Georgejdorner (talk) 19:33, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
