Template:Top 25 report/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Template:Top 25 report should be placed on talk pages of articles which have been listed on the weekly top 25 viewed articles. List the first day of each week when it appeared in chronological order.

Usage

[edit]
  • {{Top 25 report|date1|date2|date3|...}}

For readability, you may insert spaces and/or line breaks at the beginning and end of any parameter.

Another option is to use the following code for a second design:

{{Top25
 | place       = Rank (1st, 2nd, 3d, etc.)
 | week        = link week article appeared on Top 25, e.g., [[Wikipedia:Top 25 Report/October 18 to 24, 2015|Oct 18-24, 2015]]
}}

Consecutive weeks

[edit]

If listing multiple consecutive weeks, list the first, followed by the parameter "until", followed by the last.

  • {{Top 25 report|date1|until|date2|...}}

where date1 and date2 are multiple weeks apart

Example

[edit]

If an article appeared in the lists at Wikipedia:Top 25 Report/September 8 to 14, 2013 and Wikipedia:Top 25 Report/September 28 to October 4, 2014, use {{Top 25 report|September 8, 2013|September 28, 2014}}. This will produce:

Comments

[edit]

A comment in parentheses can be placed at any given item. For example, {{Top 25 report|December 29, 2013 (4th)|May 5, 2019}} would display:

As shown in the examples above, the template handles weeks which cross from one month into the next.

Until parameter

[edit]

The code {{Top 25 Report|August 11, 2013|May 3, 2020|until|May 31, 2020|July 19, 2020|until|August 2, 2020}} produces all the dates between May 3, 2020 to June 6, 2020 as well as between July 19, 2020 to August 8, 2020 and August 11, 2013.

Second Design

[edit]
{{Top25
 | place       = 3rd
 | week        = [[Wikipedia:Top 25 Report/January 6 to 12, 2013|January 6 to 12, 2013]]
}}
