Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because every country/territory's articles have their corresponding template data pages. It makes it easier to edit and prevents the main article from being over-crowded with source code. --Shawnqual (talk) 11:14, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Shawnqual (talk) 11:15, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rather than keeping this different page, I'd argue for deleting this template and moving the information back into the main COVID-19 pandemic in Australia article, since (unlike many other countries and regions in the world), some Australian states are currently very close to eliminating COVID-19 and the daily state-by-state counts are thus of particularly high importance to readers. -- pde (talk) 11:47, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I should add: I'd argue for moving the information back at least temporarily. Depending on how things turn out in the long run, the current period may or may not be of particular encyclopedic interest and a separate template might eventually be the right home for the data. -- pde (talk) 11:49, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
