Edit request 6 February 2024[edit]

I would like to propose a designation for Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level in China under adminstration of the National Cultural Heritage Administration. It is the highest level of protection for immovable cultural relics in China.

1. It consists of 5058 subjects under protection
2. It has a Wikipedia article: Major cultural heritage sites under national-level protection, although I believe the title to be translated wrongly, it should be Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level, as it is shown in signs on protected subjects officially. See File:Protection signs of buildings on the Bund, 2019-10-18 01.jpg
3. Scope is national, only in Mainland China
4. Text: Major Historic and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level (China)
5. Callnames listed below

Code for Template:Designation/text:

|MAJOR HISTORIC AND CULTURAL SITE PROTECTED AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL (CHINA)|MAJOR HISTORIC AND CULTURAL SITE PROTECTED AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL|MAJOR CULTURAL HERITAGE SITES UNDER NATIONAL LEVEL PROTECTION|MAJOR CULTURAL HERITAGE SITES UNDER NATIONAL-LEVEL PROTECTION|Major cultural heritage sites under national-level protection

Code for Template:Designation/colour:

 |MAJOR HISTORIC AND CULTURAL SITE PROTECTED AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL = #B7EBDF

Code for Template:Designation/colour2:

 |MAJOR HISTORIC AND CULTURAL SITE PROTECTED AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL = #CD071E

Thanks for the consideration. Hi (talk) 12:05, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Done * Pppery * it has begun... 16:02, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For some reason, when I'm using it the Croatian one pops up. Its also not on the template list yet. Do you know why? Daftation 🗩 🖉 20:22, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There was a typo in the code above. I have fixed it in the template and added China to the documentation. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:55, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just realised I forgot the capital letters. Can you add that please? Looks weird without capitalisation. Sorry for the inconvenience. Daftation 🗩 🖉 16:02, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to edit {{Designation/text/sandbox}} and {{Designation/testcases}} until the sandbox template displays the way you want it to display. The documentation is also available for you to edit. The capitalization matches the article name; that article was moved one month ago by Cfls; I do not see a discussion on the article's talk page. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:10, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If the article name at Major cultural heritage sites under national-level protection is wrong, Talk:Major cultural heritage sites under national-level protection is the right place to discuss a proposed change (or a reversion to the previous name). – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:47, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do think the designation should be capitalized. Even if the name remains the same. Every other designation is capitalized. Daftation 🗩 🖉 20:48, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A scan of Template:Designation#National/regional designations, the table in which this entry has been added, does show some inconsistencies. For example, National Treasure of Japan and National monument of Ireland, which are acceptable because one is a proper name and one is not. It appears that "Major cultural heritage sites under national-level protection" has not been accepted as a proper name, so only the very first letter should be capitalized. Registered battlefield[edit]

Entering "Registered battlefield" in Template:Infobox historic site brings up "Invalid designation". Can this be fixed please? Cnbrb (talk) 13:43, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

According to the template documentation, the accepted values are "NHLE Battlefields" and "UK Registered Battlefields". There are also similar values for US battlefields. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:57, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Not clear from the documentation! Cnbrb (talk) 15:13, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request 25 June 2024[edit]

Description of suggested change: Change of color for the Historic Monument of Poland. The official website of the designation (nid.pl/pomniki-historii/) does include the visual identification manual, which identifies two colors for this designation:

  • darker   #78776D (RGB R: 120 G: 119 B: 109),
  • and lighter   #969488 (RGB R: 150 G: 148 B: 136).

Citation: "Pominik Historii. Logo manual" (PDF). nid.pl. p. 5.

Converted RGB to HEX using: www.rgbtohex.net

Template creators do suggest lighter colors (Template:Designation#Color selection).

P. S. Also it would be greate if the documentation page would be updated, as it currently does not list the Historic Monument of Poland as supported designation. — Antoni12345 (talk) 03:51, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
 Done * Pppery * it has begun... 02:13, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pppery: Thx! And the update of the documentation page? — Antoni12345 (talk) 12:19, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can do that yourself. The documentation is not protected. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:46, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pppery: Ok! Done. And could you also change the border color with the darker one? — Antoni12345 (talk) 22:38, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request 13 July 2024[edit]

Proposal to add a designation for Basque Cultural Heritage.

  1. The register must be an official designation consisting of a reasonable number of sites. As of 2019, there were more than 11,000 listed sites (newspaper article mentioning the number).
  2. There must be an article about the register on Wikipedia. There is an article (Basque Cultural Heritage) with an external link to the list with all sites.
  3. The register's scope must be identified. State/provincial, in the Basque Autonomous Community of Spain.
  4. Text and a color scheme must be chosen for the designation. The text should be "Basque Cultural Heritage". There doesn't seem to be an official color associated with the register, but green is often associated with the Basque Country (for example,  #67D68A ).
  5. Valid callnames must be chosen for the designation. BASQUE CULTURAL HERITAGE, with BASQUE and BASQUE COUNTRY as fallback values.

Code to be added:

|BASQUE CULTURAL HERITAGE|BASQUE COUNTRY|BASQUE = [[Basque Cultural Heritage]]

|BASQUE CULTURAL HERITAGE|BASQUE COUNTRY|BASQUE = #67D68A

Proposal to add a designation for Iran National Heritage List.

  1. The register must be an official designation consisting of a reasonable number of sites. As of 2012, there were more than 26,666 listed sites (a list of registered sites).
  2. There must be an article about the register on Wikipedia. There is an article (Iran National Heritage List).
  3. The register's scope must be identified. National.
  4. Text and a color scheme must be chosen for the designation. The text should be "Iran National Heritage List". There doesn't seem to be an official color associated with the register, but a Khaki shade seems appropriate (for example,  #C3B091 ).
  5. Valid callnames must be chosen for the designation. Iran National Heritage List, with INHL and Iran and Iran National Heritage as fallback values.

Code to be added:

|Iran National Heritage List|Iran|INHL|Iran National Heritage = [[Basque Cultural Heritage]]

|Iran National Heritage List|Iran|INHL|Iran National Heritage = #C3B091
