New Class always displays B

C to A with checklist set to n

Regardless of what you put in the newclass param, this always displays B. Zell Faze (talk) 14:01, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Zellfaze: part of the problem is apparently in Template:Former TAFI/auto-assess, which, depending on the values passed by the b1, b2, ..., b5 parameters, ignores the class. you should ask Evad37 to fix it. there are more problems as well (see the additional example). I left a message on his talk page to letting people know that this discussion is happening here. It seems he may have already been informed of the issue. Zell Faze (talk) 15:47, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned on the documentation, filling out the B-class checklist will automatically assign B-Class if b1 to b5 are set to yes, or C-class if either b1 or b2 plus all of b3 to b5 are set to yes. If this isn't the case then the template will look at the class provided in the parameter. This is by design, after a request on WT:TAFI for the template to determine the class automatically from the checklist. Your examples above could be fixed by removing the filled out b-class checklists, or filling them out correctly. It is also extremely unlikely that articles will be improved to GA, A, or FA within 1 week, not least of all because of the backlogs, and therefore WP:TAFI/A specifies that we only assess up to B-Class. - Evad37 [talk] 23:26, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've just tried to further clarify the documentation. - Evad37 [talk] 23:38, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Parser function errors

[edit]

Something involving the recent changes to this template is causing it to throw up error messages on Talk:Meal, Talk:Micronesia, and Talk:Recorded history. Perhaps the template's syntax is being misused on those pages, but I don't know what the problem is. Could someone who understands the working of the template take a look? Deor (talk) 12:26, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed those instances. Previously, the |date= field could be (mis)used to display anytext, but the template now only expects a single date. The fix is to use 1 banner (template instance) per date, rather than combining two dates into a single banner. - Evad37 [talk] 13:27, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How do you make the template say "was" a former TAFI?

[edit]

The question is the title. Go to the article Talk:Ice hotel for more details.

Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 01:55, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need to do anything, the template automatically works whether to say "is" or "was" based on the date the collaboration began. If it hasn't updated for you, try bypassing your cache or purging the page - Evad37 [talk] 02:36, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Collapsible Shell

[edit]

Is there a template similar to {{Wikiproject banner shell}} where you could put all the Former TAFI boxes in a collapsed header, but for TAFIs? Sometimes the former TAFI boxes clog up the article talk pages when it was selected more than once for TAFI (for example, see Talk:Organ (anatomy), where there are 5 boxes). Kalimi (talk) 03:02, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, I created myself a shell template here at Template:TAFI shell. Kalimi (talk) 07:10, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unbold checklist tables

[edit]

Is there any reason the checklist tables are bolded? If not, could someone unbold it? Aaron Liu (talk) 22:13, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated code

[edit]

This template contains lots of outdated code, for example links to Template:WPBannerMeta/hooks/bchecklist/criterion. I suggest you strip all this out and convert it to a simple {{tmbox}} — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:57, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
