Usage

[edit]

Search comics.org using the publisher dropdown menu then add the ID to the template along with the publisher's name, for example:

{{gcdb issue|id=31153|title=''Detective Comics'' #470}}

Or simpler (OK for those who know what they are doing but adding the "id=" bits might help someone unfamiliar with templates, however the formatting is simple enough):

{{gcdb issue|31153|''Detective Comics'' #470}}

Which give you:

  • "Detective Comics #470". Grand Comics Database.

As seen at Silver St. Cloud#References.

There is the possibility of breaking it down into title and number, e.g. {{gcdb issue|id=31153|title=Detective Comics|number=470}}, but I don't see the need and it also means it won't automatically pick up the page name if no title is added (although that is going to be rare). If you think that is a better solution then feel free to change this as I'm not bothered either way (but do change any pages that use this template to the new format, as I'm sure you would anyway).
