Duplicate link, and unlinked entries

[edit]

This template generates duplicate links if the summer and winter games were held in the same country, and also links to the listing article in the others; see for example, 1936 Summer Olympics#See also. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:20, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Nimrodbr, which removals do you object in this revision: Special:Diff/1037031718? My checks indicate that Olympic Games and International Olympic Committee almost always are repeat links, and "Summer/Winter Olympics" are often so. It is unlikely that a reader would want to go to any of these articles after making it through a whole article on a specific games, which is where this template is transcluded. — Goszei (talk) 06:48, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, from my look it would have seemed like you were deleting the links to the versions of the games themselves. It is worth being more precise in the edit summary, and it is also recommended that such a change be discussed next before deleting. Nimrodbr (talk) 07:04, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
