Invention/creation

[edit]

May I suggest that the infobox state dates created rather than invented?

Data connector buses are generally engineered, created, not invented. The underlying methods have generally been invented long before the individual standards are created. -FrostyBytes 21:53, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

optional parameters

[edit]

imo optional parameters that default to a particular value rather than defauling to not including the field are a recipie for wrong info to get into articles. How do others feel? Plugwash 22:50, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean 'External' and 'Hotplugging'? Good point I spose, although it would be hard to get it wrong probably, with preview and all, and both of those params are only 'yes' or 'no' anyway. --TheJosh 12:15, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Invented/created dates again

[edit]

I think we need another date ("Standard published") and maybe even another ("First products") in addition to "Created". Someone has mentioned this re Serial ATA. It is not uncommon in this business for the first products to ship before the standard is published, so the article's use of the template says "Created: 2003" (that's the date on the first version of the standard) even though the first SATA devices shipped in 2002, and "invention" (or creation) may well have been a year or so previous. Using P856

[edit]

This template is using P856. Either {{Uses Wikidata|P856}} or {{Wikidata property|P856}} should be added to the documentation subpage.

Reading the description of Uses Wikidata and Wikidata property, I wasn't sure which one I should use.

Caption

[edit]

@Thumperward It seems that you broke the caption feature of this template. Could you look into that? Sorry if I am mistaken. PhotographyEdits (talk) 14:44, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Apologies. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 16:48, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
