Flag icon

[edit]

According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (icons)#Avoid flag icons in infoboxes, the construction of this template is slightly flawed.

in this summit infobox, the host country is identified in the same way as a {{flagicon}}.

Is there a good reason why the flag should be in the infobox of this summit? Can it be said to aid in navigation in the same way that {{flagicon}} is useful in tables only at G8 and G-20 major economies? --Tenmei (talk) 14:37, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Direct contravention of the MoS. It should be removed. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 15:13, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also, a lot of the flags are anachronistic as currently used. Libya and Iraq, Egypt twice and Sudan all have the current flags instead of the historical flags. -LtNOWIS (talk) 18:16, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed them. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:24, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
