Use safesubst:

[edit]

{{editprotected}} I propose to use safesubst: as so:

<div class="boilerplate metadata vfd xfd-closed" style="background-color: Moccasin; margin: 2em 0 0 0; padding: 0 10px 0 10px; border: 1px solid #AAAAAA;">
:''The following discussion is an archived debate of the username below. <span style="color:red">'''Please do not modify it.'''</span> Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as [[Wikipedia talk:Requests for comment/User names]]). No further edits should be made to this section. ''
<!--Template:Rfcn top-->
{{<includeonly>safesubst:</includeonly>#if:{{{1|}}}|The result was: {{{1}}}}}<noinclude>
</div>{{Documentation}}
[[Category:Archival templates|{{PAGENAME}}]]</noinclude>

This removes extraneous parser functions left with the substitution of this template. MC10 (TCGBL) 03:43, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Remove "metadata"

[edit]

Please remove the "metadata" class from the "class" attribute of the opening <div> element. A closed user name RFC discussion is not metadata, and the only effect this class has is to make these closed discussions invisible on mobile Wikipedia. — This, that and the other (talk) 10:45, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, while we're here, is there a reason this template isn't editable by template editors? — This, that and the other (talk) 10:45, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: The page's protection level has changed since this request was placed. You should now be able to edit the page yourself. If you still seem to be unable to, please reopen the request with further details. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:48, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
