California and Hawaii are not listed
[edit]Other states are listed but California and Hawaii aren't. They do have WikiProjects WP:HAWAII and WP:CALIFORNIA. There might be more, but at least these two aren't listed. Also I can't WP:BEBOLD, it's template editor protected. - Sebbog13 (talk) 14:46, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Of the 26 US-State parameters in the /doc (25+DC), 23 have associated WikiProject templates which are subst'd wrappers for {{WPUS}} (e.g. {{WP Arkansas}}), and only 3 are not ({{WP Arizona}}, {{WP Indiana}}, {{WP Ohio}}). I don't know why those 3 exceptions exist, but the clear pattern/trend is to reserve {{WPUS}} params to subst'd states. ~ Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf) 18:04, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Some years ago, there was a decision that a state should only have params in WikiProject United States if, and only if, it didn't have it's own state WikiProject banner. Since
{{WikiProject California}}
and{{WikiProject Hawaii}}
exist, there should not be|CA=
or|HI=
in{{WikiProject United States}}

- That's no good. You need to purge the page where you actually see the red error messages. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:20, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- That's the page where I saw the red error message. I was reading the template page -- 65.92.247.96 (talk) 05:41, 24 July 2024 (UTC)

I see Primefac has added includeonly to the template which has fixed the problem of scripts timing out but has removed other functionality. We need to look at why this is happening and resolve that. The Module:WikiProject banner/templatepage includes a number of checks (such as whether categories exist, etc.) and it is possible we need to reduce these. But with 95 task forces, this template is always going to be an outlier — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:45, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

- I think it not necessary to put a prominent notice on all these transclusions. As long as Template:WikiProject Barack Obama is tagged, that should be fine — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:19, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
