Template edit request

[edit]

The template presently displays two URLs. The first URL to worldcurl.com is no longer operational (dead site) and should be removed. The second URL provides the same content, the first URL does not need an archived version. Made into a single URL template. Not sure what the implications are for Wikidata. -- GreenC 15:10, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. GreenC, this is only semi-protected; you can make the change yourself. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 15:55, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Deacon Vorbis, I wouldn't ask for help if I could do it myself. I can't do advanced wiki templates. -- GreenC 16:15, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe try asking at WP:VPT then, because edit requests are really for making precise edits that one simply lacks the permission to do, not general help. If you really want to leave this open, you'll also need to add the |force=yes parameter, because the request templates auto-sense the protection level and put themselves in the appropriate queue (semi-prot in this case, not template-prot). –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 16:25, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
We at WP:CURLING are aware of the issue and we're trying to come up with a resolution for this template.-- Earl Andrew - talk 16:50, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think we'll be using this template anymore, because we're going to just use {{Sports links}} to standardize external links (I'm working on that). At any rate, {{CurlingZone}} already exists with the single URL... should this template just be marked as deprecated? Allthegoldmedals (talk) 18:13, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
