Thogata (Telugu: తొగట వీర క్షత్రియ) (also known as Thogata Veera Kshathriya) are a Hindu community found in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.They claim descent from Chowdeswari and follow Vaishnavite tradition.[1][2]

Thogatas are classified as an Other Backward Class (OBC) in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and other Indian states.[3] .Their occupation is weaving, but now they are involved in agriculture and other rural activities.. They are distinct from other weaving castes like Padmasali and Devanga.[1]
