Thanks. I'm a little weary on spamming the project itself as of now. A general announcement making mention of the program is a great idea. It's perfectly fine that you signed up to be the first judge. I'm contemplating if it would be in good taste to sign myself up lol. I'm hesitant because of my heavy involvement so far. looking for info re: publication bans

[edit]

I'm wondering if you can direct me to information about wikipedia policy in regards to publication bans. I am considering updating the Robert Pickton page in wikipedia and am able to attend the trial in person, so I will have information that the Canadian media is prevented from reporting due to a Canadian publication ban. Is there a policy or precedent in regards to such issues in wikipedia? Thank you for your time! Fennel

Does this help?

[edit]

I read the meeting log. When I put on there to make a new goal, I meant that Esperanza should be focused on a single area of Wikipedia. For ex. the Welcoming Com. helps with new users. That should hopefully clear up what I meant. WikieZach 01:39, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Hey there....

Thank you CP

Thanks for your kind support (and comments) at my RfA. I really appreciate it. If you should ever need my help with anything, please let me know! And also, thanks for being such a great Admin General! (no, not a suck up comment :) ) All the best Banez 18:09, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much for voicing your criticism at its FAC. I have worked into the article all of your prcise suggestions but wondered if you might help me out with some of the others. This is what I've done so far.

  1. What more do you need to know about it in the real world? It notes who created it and when.
  2. As to why the anime and video games are longer: they are more popular and widely available. Plus, there is more to write about them. What more do you write about a small peice of card worth about a dime?

Regards, --Celestianpower háblame 21:07, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

  • I note that the small concerns have been rectified, however, in my mind having this article get a re-thinking is best for it (organization-wise and content-wise). To address your questions:
1. How about a bibliography like this: Krazy Kat#Eclipse Comics editions? Is "Cultural impact" or "Merchandise" too much? It was my impression that Pokemon was a huge popular cultural phenomenon, yet according to this article, there have been asolutely no analysis of its characters and Bulbasaur has only ever been mention twice in the media. No non-promotional books with independent analysis?
2. I don’t think that justifies inclusion into the article. That sounds like writing for the sake of writing. As for the cards, I really thought the fantasy card games were a big part of Pokemon. --maclean25 03:56, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

[edit]

Hi Celestianpower/Archive19, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). If you voted in support of my request, thank you! If you decided to oppose me at this time, then I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Wikipedia may persuade you to reconsider your position. All the best, Proto t c 15:29, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Wikimedia Canada

[edit]

Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 17:11, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Oh, sorry if I was wrong. How I managed to send you this message was because of the page User:Celestianpower/PMC which is listed on Category:Wikipedians in Canada. I got to say I didn't understand why the PMC user page was a subpage to your user page, so I sent the same message to both pages, thinking that you were also be connected to Canada in some way. But I can see you're from England now that I read.--DarkEvil 14:38, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

RfA Thanks!

[edit]
Okay, this is perhaps a bit overdue, but thank-you for your support in my recent RfA! I passed with a final vote count consensus of (82/1/0), which was a lot of support that I really appreciate. I'll try to live up to the expectations; and on that note, if there's ever something I do wrong (or don't do right), please spit in my general direction. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 05:27, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Indeed. I had already told Wikizach not to blank it because we wanted to keep it at least for a day... -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 22:48, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Pokemundanity

[edit]

I interacted with you on the Bulbasaur peer review, so I'm guessing you know your Pokemon from your Pikmin better than I do. Anyways, what's the policy/consensus on Pokemon fan fiction in Pokemon articles. I had removed some references to a fan fiction webcomic, Pokémon-X that I've upped for deletion. But in Mightyena theres already some other non-canon internet stuff in there. Normally, I'd just smite it, but I thought maybe a Pokemaniac would better look at it. - Hahnchen 17:53, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

I've never heard of it. Delete it. UIf anyone disagrees, they can always restore it. Perhaps comment out? Or move to talk page? --Celestianpower háblame 19:06, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Could you please do a speedy delete on User:Haza-w/temp? I've been waiting for aaaages... haz (user talk)e 21:15, 9 February 2006

Regarding the Bulbasaur FAC

[edit]

I felt I owed you an explination to why I removed Bulbasuar from the FAC. I read the Bulbasaur article tonight from top to bottom for the first time. I decided that I agree with the criticisms that it does not stand on its own - e.g, to someone unfamiliar with pokemon, the article is almost impossible to comprehend. I also agree to a certain extent with Taxman's comment that it it lacks information explaining the relavance of the topic - e.g, it didn't ansewr the question "why is bulbasuar important".
