I was born in Manama and have lived there for about a decade, before moving to my current location in Colombo, Sri Lanka. My interests include researching, photographing, writing about, and developing renewable energy (particularly solar and wind power), and limnology (i.e. dams and rivers), hence my work here on Wikipedia (and Commons) also mostly circle around these areas. Things I enjoy include travelling, hiking, community work (cleanups, building/renovating schools, etc), building computers, photography, star gazing, and most things in between. My real-life work experience includes banking, renewable energy, and cybersecurity. Outside content writing, I work on improving infoboxes and navigation templates, attend to admin tasks on the English Wikipedia and Commons, Wikidata-related work, offline Wiki(m)pedia outreach, and other related things. Wherever needed, I also help improve policy and guideline pages, as I strongly believe that these pages need to be very simple, clear, and up to date, particularly on rapidly growing sites like Wikipedia and Commons. Peach, a New Zealand teacher and activist born in 1946, had taken part in an Anti-Nazi League demonstration against a National Front election meeting in Southall Town Hall. An investigation by Commander John Cass of the Metropolitan Police Service concluded that Peach had been fatally hit on the head by an officer of the service's Special Patrol Group, and that other officers had obstructed the investigation. Excerpts from a leaked copy of the report were published in early 1980. In 1988 the Metropolitan Police paid £75,000 compensation to Peach's family. After receiving his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1936, Alvarez went to work for Ernest Lawrence at the Radiation Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley. He joined MIT Radiation Laboratory in 1940, where he contributed to a number of World War II radar projects and worked as a test pilot, before joining Robert Oppenheimer on the Manhattan Project in 1943.
